The Food and Drug Administration has recalled one set of cannabidiol oil products dispersed throughout the United States of America. The FDA’s action is a consequence of laboratory testing found high amounts of lead in these products. According to the government agency, using this type of cannabidiol oil could bring about lead poisoning. It is a severe condition, which could not only damage one’s kidney but also lead to shock. Even so, it is worth noting there was no customer complaint associated with cannabidiol.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) checked one of these products, and it found the contaminant. The test discovered that another product in the same set contained 0.5 parts per million of lead, which is in the legally allowed limit. Anyhow, the FDA has ordered the whole set of products to be returned from the market. This means that new customers will not be able to use any of these products.

CBD products are constantly tested for purity and safety in laboratories. In other words, the testing is done to ensure that the items contain no contaminant, and contain legally acceptable levels of phytocannabinoids. For an uninitiated, contaminants can include heavy metals, residual pesticides, and solvents. Besides, the product’s THC content must not go beyond 0.3% as per the 2018’s Agricultural Amendment Act. Any amount of THC beyond 0.3% in the cannabidiol oil product will result in negative secondary effects. Some of these CBD oil side effects will be manageable, but the product must not contain more THC levels than it.

Lead is one of the heavy metals that tend to be in this CBD item. When an individual buys one unit of it that is high in the heavy metal, the Food and Drug Administration says that the move could bring about acute poisoning. Some of the symptoms of the aforesaid health condition are nausea, low desire for food, loss of weight, vomiting, pain in the gut, and a metal-like taste.

Previous customers of this product are told not to use it and give it back to the outlet from where they purchased it. The good thing is that each customer would get a full refund from that shop in the event he or she returns it there. The matter is being informed to every customer and distributor of this product through telephone and in-person.
